Ellen DeGeneres is not only correct; she could not have been more prophetic. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show which aired September 10, 2015. Ellen interviewed Hillary Rodham Clinton, whom Ellen supports for president.
Quote:“A lot of women, we are so conditioned for so long to be less than”
“I personally believe women are held to a different standard then men, weight, age, looks”
Ellen revealed several historical facts about women that were interesting three were; women were not allowed to serve on jury duty until 1973, own a credit card until 1974 and did not get the constitutionally protected right to vote until passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Including credit card ownership here are ten more civil rights that did not occur for women until after 1970. What Women Could Not Do Before 1970
When Hillary Rodham Clinton talks about being a progressive who is moderate and a centrist, in an attempt to work with other politicians, communities, and others who have varying religious, social and political views, she is vilified.
Extreme right and left wing ideology is the root cause of dysfunction in politics. No two people think alike and a good politician will try to be fair, reasonable, controlled, tolerant, lenient, acceptable and understanding, of others views in any societal and civic resolution or troublesome political dilemma.
When Hillary Rodham Clinton talks abut reaching across the aisle to find common ground she is vilified, when Bernie Sanders goes to an extreme right wing and conservative religious school, and gives a speech where he talks about finding common ground and respecting others views, while holding to his core progressive beliefs—not a peep is heard from the same people who vilified Hillary Rodham Clinton for saying and doing the exact same thing.
The words that best describe this Neanderthal state of mind are hypocrisy, double standard and institutionalized sexism.
Hillary on Being a Progressive, a Moderate, a Centrist and Finding Common Ground
"You know, I get accused of being kind of moderate and center," Clinton told the audience at a Women for Hillary event in Ohio. "I plead guilty."Bernie Sanders and his supporters describe him as a staunch liberal and progressive, who would never compromise his political beliefs and values. Seems Bernie gave a more moderate speech at Liberty University, instead of his normal firebrand liberal and progressive speeches he gives to democratic supporters on the campaign trail."I take a backseat to no one," Clinton told a New Hampshire audience in July, "When you look at my record in standing up and fighting for progressive values."
On Thursday, Clinton reiterated that willingness to compromise, telling the audience that while she would "meet anytime, anywhere with anyone to find common ground," she would also "stand my ground" on issues like abortion and women's rights, among others.
Clinton argued at the Columbus event that being in the "center" is a positive, not a negative.
"I think sometimes it's important when you are in the elected arena -- you try to figure out, how do you bring people together to get something done instead of just standing on the opposite sides yelling at each other," Clinton said.
Before Clinton came on stage, Dana Ellis, a digital marketing strategist from the Columbus area, said that while Sanders has captured "the really progressive liberal arm of the party," Clinton's "more centrist Democrats understand that in order to win the White House you have to have a broader appeal."
Bernie Sanders at Liberty University, was a model of moderation, as he was reasonable, understanding and controlled, as he attempted to find common ground and reach across the aisle.
Bernie Accepts Invitation and Reaches Across the Aisle
“Liberty University was kind enough to invite me to address a convocation and I decided to accept,” .... “It goes without saying that my views on many issues — women’s rights, gay rights, education and many other issues — are very different from the opinions of some in the Liberty University community."Bernie Brings Moderation to Liberty University"I think it is important, however, to see if we can reach consensus regarding the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality in our country, about the collapse of the middle class, about the high level of childhood poverty, about climate change and other issues.” He added: “It is very easy for a candidate to speak to people who hold the same views. It’s harder but important to reach out to others who look at the world differently. I look forward to meeting with the students and faculty of Liberty University.”
Bernie Looks to Find Common GroundBernie Being a ModerateLynchburg, Va. – Senator Bernie Sanders took his message of confronting inequality to unfamiliar ground on Monday at Liberty University, a leading evangelical Christian college, where he sought to build what he called “common ground” with students, beginning with the foundations of Christianity itself:
Often, as Mr. Sanders spoke, he was greeted with polite, if tepid, applause from students. Most students who were questioned afterward said that their minds had not been changed about Mr. Sanders. His campaign billed the speech as an effort to highlight the importance of those with differing views engaging in civil discourse. And while he most likely will not gain broad support from evangelicals, Mr. Sanders is also the only Democratic candidate so far to reach out to them in such a direct manner.
Speaking about America in response to a question on race and racism, he said: “I would also say that as a nation, the truth is, that a nation which in many ways was created, and I’m sorry to have to say this, from way back on racist principles, that’s a fact. We have come a long way as a nation.”
What he left out at Liberty was his attack on Republicans for asserting that women "should not be able to control their own bodies," as he said at a town meeting in Grinnell, Iowa last week.Super PAC or Super PACK?
In the link below is a news site titled 'BerniePost'--besides announcing the launching of a new Bernie Super PACK, asking for a one time donation and reoccurring donations, the site describes itself as:
BerniePost Announces Bernie PACK
Make a DonationIn the links below are two sites with Bernie Sanders name associated with them, Bernie's Super PACK and Grassroots For Sanders 2016 (Bernie's official campaign website). The sites both look alike, are set up alike, have the same one time or reoccurring contribution rules as BerniePost, as well as Bernie Sanders mailing address (for contributions) and site management information listed at the bottom of both sites. The BerniePost is the only media outlet dedicated to covering Bernie Sanders' presidential election campaign. Please consider making a donation so we are able to continue our efforts.
Super PAC's, are barred from making contributions to a political candidate's campaign or party, but may engage in unlimited political spending independently of the campaign and party. Because of the Supreme Court's decision in 'Citizens United'--Super PAC's can raise funds from individuals, corporations, unions, and other groups without any legal limit on donation size.
Bernie Sanders is on record as not only being against Super PAC's, but wanting to overturn 'Citizens United' by congressional legislation or the U.S. Supreme Court. I am sure that Bernie Sanders has no knowledge of this slick fraudulent site, and does not want his name associated with a Super PACK raising money using his name, how would that make him look. Who's idea was it to spell Super PAC--Super PACK?
I failed to mention there is a "Bernie Sanders Super PAC Community" Facebook page as well. Judging from the low number of 'likes' and how popular Bernie is now, it must be new and the postings are up to date. Bernie Sanders Super PAC Community Note: Click on 2015 in the top right corner of comment section to see full comments.
Maybe calling it a Super PACK instead of Super PAC allows one to rail against Super PAC's but still have a Super PACK that is legal and raising money from people who like to contribute to Super PAC's.
